As I’ve mentioned before, in Chinese the number four is considered unlucky because the word for “four” (四 sì) sounds like the word for “death” (死 sǐ). This why, in an abundance of sensitivity to superstition, I avoided telling older Chinese people that I was, in fact, David IV.
Today is my birthday. I turned forty-four. That’s right. Double death. Kinda badass.
Felicitations on your 44 orbits!
Speaking of orbits, did you get my email?
Thanks! And I did, but I’ve been waiting to watch it on my TV instead of in a browser. I’ll get to it tonight!
Happy Birthday!
Thanks!
